Members of the North West Provincial Legislature Portfolio Committee on Community Safety and Transport Management, Public Works and Roads led by Hon Mmoloki Cwaile conducted an oversight visit at the Wolmaranstad Traffic department and found that the station poses similar challenges found at the Potchefsroom Traffic Department.

This was during the oversight week program that took place from 19 to 21 April 2023 at various areas in the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda district. The program is aimed at strengthening oversight and public participation and to promote accountability and transparency in government.
Similar challenges found at the traffic station was amongst others the lack of pool cars, firearms, bullet proof vests, alcohol testing means, torches and calibrated equipment. The station has poor infrastructural challenges and no maintenance, with dilapidated buildings.

The committee noted that the issue of defective buildings is a recurring matter, but requested the traffic station to provide them with their infrastructure plans besides relying on the Department of Public Works and Roads to assist.

The committee also advised the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management to make a plan of procuring jojo tanks that can assist the station with water supply issues.
