The Honourable Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Dr. Desbo Mohono and the Secretary, Adv. Lutendo Netshitumbu are in Russia, at the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum session themed; “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World”
The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) kicked off its annual international economic forum yesterday, and aims to explore effective approaches to addressing global challenges.
This forum is held when the global economy is facing severe challenges. It is poised to be a platform for discussing issues ranging from accelerating digitalisation – to addressing climate change and formulating specific, practical solutions that can adapt the global economy to new conditions.
The organiser’s say business leaders and government officials from 140 countries and territories are taking part in the four-day event.
One session featured discussions on strengthening economic ties with non-Western countries. The attendees stressed the importance of the BRICS framework, consisting of emerging and developing countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend a plenary session and deliver a speech on Friday.
